Working from home is becoming an attractive, economic alternative as women try to bring more HARMONY into their daily round. Did you know three out of every four sole proprietorships are owned by women?
But beware! If you are not very careful, it’s very easy to blur the distinction between the two spheres – home and work – until you have only “homework” which is horrendous.
Boundaries must be made and kept. Otherwise, it’s too tempting to “pick up” the house before settling down to work. It’s nice to be able to throw in a load of laundry before getting on the conference call, or starting dinner before writing that report. It’s also tempting to “finish up” after the kids are in bed or use weekends for “catching up” on last week or “getting a head start” on next week.
We don’t want to turn working from home into “Homework” which is 24/7. Working from home can be a genuine step toward self-determination once we honor the sense of balance/harmony we seek.
I’d love to hear how you, solopreneur, are bringing HARMONY into your working from home.
