I want to share with you, anyone can live their life with intention, but it takes dedication, setting priorities and being committed to yourself. A dream without a plan is just a wish!
After my gray divorce, I promised myself I would live my life, my way: boldly, freely, and joyfully. And I am! And so can you!
I had a great conversation with the two ladies who started Purse Strings, Barbara and Maggie. We were discussing a FB live talk that I’m giving and the topic of “living life with intention” came up. Actually, Barbara commented on how she loved the way I was traveling and living my life boldly.
This is the process I developed to live the second half of my life with intention. (If you want to hear more juicy details, check out my You Tube videos on this topic.)
The first step is to DREAM. What is the life you desire? Ask yourself questions like:
- Where are you?
- Where do you want to live?
- Who are you with/or solo?
- What are you doing?
- What brings you joy?
The second step is to TAKE INVENTORY.
- What are my current income and expenses?
- What have I saved for retirement?
- What is my net worth?
- What do I enjoy doing?
- Who do I like being around?
- How is my health?
The third step is to PLAN YOUR FUTURE.
- What income do you need to live the life you desire?
- Is there an income gap between current income and desired income?
- How can this gap be filled?
- When do you intend to make a change (relocation, retire, job change)?
- Who do you want to spend time with?
- How do you want to spend your time, doing what (work and leisure)?
Have fun dreaming and planning for the rest of your life. Be intentional and live the life you desire.
After I went through this process, my life looks like this:
- I relocated and bought a house next door to my grandkids 🙂
- I continue to work as a financial coach the hours I choose.
- I travel monthly (this is my passion and brings me great joy)!
- I stay connected with friends and family, often seeing them while I’m traveling.
What does your adventure look like? How are you going to live the rest of your life joyfully?
